Afghanistan will “likely” erupt in civil war, the top US general told US media on Saturday, warning that those conditions could see a resurgence of terrorist groups in the country. “My military estimate… is that the conditions are likely to develop of a civil war,” General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said. “The conditions are very likely, and added “that you could see a resurgence of terrorism coming out of that general region within 12, 24, 36 months.”

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a proscribed organization, has claimed responsibility for a suicide blast in Pakistan’s Quetta on Sunday, which killed three people and injured 20 others. Pakistan PM Imran Khan condemned the attack, saying that his condolences go to the families of the martyrs & prayers for the recovery of the injured. A suicide bomber of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan blew himself up in the country’s restive Balochistan province on Sunday, killing at least three security personnel and injuring 20 people, according to officials.
